LOGIN vending tools are in-house developed tools from our engineering department which is involved in a great deal of vending related development.
If we cannot find any decent third party tooling we set out to design our own. MDB spy is our first product which is also available for third parties. The product has been evaluated by the EVA technical committee and several committee members use the product on a day by day basis.
The MDB-spy application program is basically a Windows ® PC monitor allowing traffic on an MDB bus to be inspected and logged. The programs main feature is the addition of data interpretation of MDB commands. This changes rather meaningless hex data into the commands given by the MDB specification, thus allowing quick zooming on the problem area rather than flicking through several hundreds of pages of the MDB specification.
All timing is done through a hardware probe allowing true time stamping of events with a resolution of about 10 µs. Warnings are given by the data interpretation should MDB data be suspicious according to the specifications. All data can be logged, and filters can be set to filter out status polls etc.
The software is Windows 32 bit only (Windows 3.1 does not work ) and requires one serial (rs 232) port. A reasonable high speed system (300 MHz or more) is required to allow real time data interpretation.

The software comes with a 45 day, no hassle, "not satisfied - money back" guarantee to allow for fair evaluation of the product. Since the product is basically from engineers for engineers our support activities do not include help desk activities. Basic support of the product however is given through E-mail, please include any registration info of the product when addressing the support department.
In addition to the guarantees products will be upgraded free of charge within twelve months of purchasing.
